Now when I try playing a Blu Ray, it says "This video cannot be played. (80029662)"

I installed Rebugs 4.21 CFW and the Rebugs toolbox.
Accidently i pressed on "Boot OtherOS" and changed the bootorder.
Now im stuck at a black screen because i dont installed petiboot or have a petiboot partion on my hdd. cant change boot order to gameos.
my usb ports doesnt working and it seems they get no power...
thought when i make a hard reset the console boots from gameos (push the power button for about 5 seconds) but it only get back to the black screen. recovery menu also doesnt seems to start. completlely stuck at the boot sequence... =(

For the longest time I've been running Rebug 3.55.

When Rogero 4.21 Came out I updated to that.

Then Rebug 4.21 came out. So I grabbed that, their downgrader and the 3.55 REX to dehash.

The downgrader went fine, I toggled the QA flag using the package and it was successfully flagged.

I tried to updated to the 3.55 REX and it said the data was corrupt. I couldn't find anything good on this problem so I grabbed an OFW 3.55.

I went into the recovery menu, system update. It copied all the files to storage, rebooted and nothing.

My tv will flash black once then it just goes to a blue screen.

I've tried resetting the video options. I've tried it my HDMI, my RGB and my composite cables and the same thing.

I tried taking the hard drive out like a youtube video mentioned and nothing.

The blue light is on, the disc eject works fine but when I try and use the power button to turn it off again it beeps several times like it's crashing.

Any ideas? If it's bricked does anyone know of someone who can fix it in the Vancouver, BC area?

So I've picked up a PS3 (got an awesome deal that didn't cost me anything except a 2TB drive and some time to put some games on it). I get it home and boot it up and it's on 3.55 OFW, but the bluray drive doesn't show anything. Put a game in, doesn't show on the XMB, put a movie in, doesn't show on the xmb.

I put Rogero 4.30CFW on it and once, while I was trying to get a game to load from the hdd, I rebooted and the bluray drive was functioning (showed the game in the drive) but I was in the middle of trying to get Max Payne 3 to boot from the HDD and froze the console playing around with it and the bluray drive hasn't shown back up since.

I do have to say that the bluray drive does make some weird noises sometimes on boot which makes me wonder if it's an alignment issue and I remember someone on here saying how to fix that, but I can't find it. As I don't know the history of the console, I don't know if it was dropped or not (the cover over the sd cards, etc is cracked) though I was told it wasn't.

Just wondering what you guys think. I've never opened a PS3 before, so if someone has a guide (I can just youtube it to find out). It's a phat CECHA01. It does accept and eject discs smoothly into the drive itself, so maybe it's not an alignment issue. I also notice that the back left corner of the machine does get quite warm to the touch whereas the rest of the machine remains cool to the touch.

Any ideas you guys have would be great!!

EDIT: I've read that remarrying the bluray drive may fix the issue, but does this mean I have to downgrade to 3.55 CFW first before doing this? I had recently updated to 4.21 Rogero and everything seemed to be going fine until games started loading slower than normal and the xmb seemed to really chug following a cold boot. So I attempted what I have successfully done before and tried to rebuild the database.

So I restarted in recovery and selected rebuild database and the PS3 froze at 0%. So I did a hard reset and when I rebooted, the hard drive data had been corrupted.

At this point, I tried formating via the PS3 which wouldn't work so I pulled the HDD, hooked it up to my computer and manually reformated via windows. Did all the checks, everything looks good with the hard drive now. > Threw it back into my PS3 and tried to run restore PS3 and was prompted to insert firmware 4.21 or greater. I first just tried reflashing 4.21 Rogero but got a 8002F2C5 error. I then went through a few other options and didn't have any success either. (421to355, 3.55Kmeaw, 3.55OFW, and 4.30Rogero)

Anyone have experience with this and have some insight into how I might be able to save my CFW? I am afraid to try and update to 4.31OFW.

Any help is much appreciated!

Sadly my disc icon wouldn't come up so I took it apart to investigate it. I'm looking at it trying to work on bluray discs, but it just spins every now and then with the occasional read. But when I try a dvd the blue laser turns on for a second and then it just don't even try to attempt the read. I kinda think its the laser but I don't really want to spend the time and the money replacing it if that was not even the issue.

The only things I've tried so far are rebuilding the database and just tinkering with the bluray drive itself.

I have a fat 80GB CECHL04 (PAL) ps3, currently running 3.55 cfw.
My blu-rey drive stoped reading cd's dvd's and games. it will take it in but nothing shows on XMB.

The clock icon on the top right of the screen is constantly spinning-while there is a disk inside, yet nothing shows up.
Maybe this is a coincidence, but the problem started right after updating multimen to the latest version.

tried a few things including a system restore from XMB menu(comes up as 3.55) but nothing helps.

Is it the lens(just the laser) ? is it the entire dock or maybe its a software problem ?
sorry my first post is a question. I could really use some help.

I'm having trouble getting the new Rogero Firmware (Rogero CEX-4.21 CFW v1.00 Free for All) to work.
I followed the steps as described by Rogero.

I came from a TrueBlue CFW, so I first downgraded to cfw3.55 (kmeav) in order to make a nand/nor dump (with memdump) and activate qa flags (I checked that they were activated properly).
After that I flashed OFW3.55 (& checked again that the qa flags were activated properly).
I ran the Rogero CEX-4.21 CFW update from the recovery menu, as suggested, and the firmware was flashed properly.

After the new CFW was installed & my PS3 booted up I was prompted to "Restore database". There was no other option so I confirmed this. Unfortunately the restore of the database got stuck at 15% and after half an hour I shut down my ps3 and turned it on again in order to repeat the procedre of restoring the database. But again no luck - still stuck at 15%.

I tried to get into recovery / service mode but IT SIMPLY ISNT WORKING. I press the power button until it beeps 3 times and the console is in standby. Then I press & hold the power button again but it beeps again 3 times and the console shuts down. I'm doing this exactly as instructed but it doesnt work!

So what now? Im stuck at the restoring of the database and I cant flash nothing else too because my console wont boot up in recovery mode ... :-(

Im really getting desperate :(

Before the update i was on the latest Rogero Cex 3.55 CFW. My PS3 retail FW is 3.50 and once i try to downgrade to 3.41 without success. I've downgraded once from that 3.56 Spanish JFW.

I don't know what the safe temps for the PS3 are, but I feel these are waaay too high for normal. I have reapplied thermal compound a few months back, but I don't know if I should redo it or not. Also, I should note that the fans do pick up while playing a game. Can anyone tell me if these temps are too high?

PS: This was just bouncing around in Multiman. Don't want to run a game to see how high it gets, because I don't want to damage it or anything.
