\n Project PS3MCA Tool Update: Full FMCB v1.8c repack released\n
\n \n \n \n
\n
\n
\n Now, this is not directly for the PS3 itself, but it uses a neat device from the line-up of PS3 Accessories in a way Sony never thought would ever happen! \r\n \r\nShortly, after the PS3 was released, people wanted to get their many PS2 "save files" over to the PS3 since it WAS backwards-compatible at launch time! \r\n \r\n
\r\nI was one of those that bought this little cute black box called a PS3 Memory Card Adapter, and after using it a few times it just sit their on the shelf, getting full of dust, a few times I looked at it, and said, hmm.. to myself, it is USB there must be something else it can do for us. \r\n \r\nWell that day has finally come, as the author jimmikaelkael of the world-famous FMCB (Free-MC-Boot Project)! -' + '- Has done just that, stopping just wondering about the PS3MCA device and done the impossible made it work on your PC and you can now use it to build a working FMCB memory card image to use on your PS2 Console. \r\n \r\nIf you don\'t know what a FMCB is, you really must be living in the Dark Ages, it is ONLY and BEST way to mod your PS2, just simple plug&play custom software! \r\n \r\n
\r\n
\r\n
\r\n \r\n \r\n This project aim to create a PC command line tool for the PlayStation 3 Memory Card Adaptor allowing users to manage their PS2 memory cards and more, like building a FMCB like hack directly from the PC. Edited and Repacked version.\r\n \r\n
\r\n
\r\n
Now is a good time to mention we have a little Crunching corner right here for our loyal PS2 fans: -' + '-> Long Live The PS2 Console! \r\n \r\nThanks to EurAsia for the news tip and attached file you can grab right here!\n
\n now to go buy a memory card adapter.. a ps2 memory card, and finally hack my slim, which means I can once again enjoy my copies of the original .hack trilogy (thankfully was backed up) since my ex got vindictive when I broke up with her and carved up the data side of the disc.. well providing I have a hackable PS2 slim.\n

I could never get anywhere with the .hack series. The anime and the game just seemed boring to me. Maybe it was just the beginning that was boring cause I tried playing it for a couple of days then had to put it down lol\n

\n it was one of those things that had to grow on me, it was the same with \'tactics\' type games, it\'ll also let me enjoy Fatal Frame 2 and 3 again.. I kick myself for not scrutinizing who I lent my games out too based on the number of my friends who had games that were scratched up all to hell and back, back in the day, before I stopped lending games out except to my closest friends. \n \nEDIT: guess I\'m out of lucky unless I can find a copy in a pawn shop, as the compatibility have both the .hack games and Fatal Frames as incompatible . Too bad their the games that people want like $200 for used..\n

The anime sorta bored me but I loved the .hack games, though I didn\'t start off on the first disc which could of been boring but soon enough i\'ll play from 1st disc to 4th. (As for now i\'m playing Persona 4 on the BC PS3 and I LOVE IT, i\'ll quit being off topic now :P) \n \nI wish this was out before I purchased my AR and used the Over buffer exploit, this would of been way quicker! That and i\'d get more use out of this rather than that AR disc ever could.\n

\n Wow, i think i used that memory card adapter once when migrating my save files to my original launch ps3... \n \nNice to see it could be useful for something else! \n \nBTW- I set up FBMC for my slim ps2 quite some time ago using the cheat disk method - and it worked pretty flawlessly.\n
\n Wow, this is great work. Looks like something that would be a pain to create, hope you enjoyed figuring it all out, jimmikaelkael. Thanks for releasing it. \r\nDamn, I should have picked one up when I saw them used for $8US. \r\n \r\n@digital-spooker I think I saw hack used here in AZ for about $20. I thought that was expensive for a ps2 game, that was at a used book store that also sells games and music. The pawn shop here sells used ps2 games for $4 and ps3 for $10. That\'s how I get mine.\n

\n I know this is old, but can anyone tell me a guide or something to do this? I keep get "Failed" when I format, OR try the full install. I\'m on Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, I\'m using a retail CECHZM1 PS3 Memory Card Adapter, and I\'m using a Max Memory 32Mb Memory Card. What I do is I start up the Installer, get to the point where it says plug it in and install the driver, I than put the memory card in the adapter, use a PS3 USB controller cable to plug the adapter into my front USB port, than I go to Devices and Printers and click properties on the "unknown device" and install ps3mca-windrv driver [I click on the folder], than I press continue on the program as soon as it\'s done installing, and I always get a "failed". Should I get a different PS2 Memory card? or am I doing something wrong? :{\n
\n Where can I get one of these memory card adapters?\n
\n \n \n \n
\n
\n
\n I found one of them here: http://www.suntekstore.com/goods.php...tm_source=gbus but I don\'t know if this one is compatible with your drivers you have. I have a good PS2 SCPH-75001 and its laser seems to of almost worn out and can only read some discs. They can be from new discs to a few scratches that usually wouldn\'t effect its reading of it. I was thinking my cheapest route would be to just get one of these readers and just get a reader that reads games from a hard drive. It would be a lot easier I think as it would enable me to get the games that won\'t read copied to my hard drive and load them off there. It would also make it to where I would never get the discs scratched up beyond playing. If anyone could help me out it would be great. Also I was wondering if there is any way at all you could just get something to load off a usb stick to mod the ps2? I really think it would be great so then there wouldn\'t have to be a bunch of searching just to find something that you may or may not be able to do. Thanks.\n
\n If it isn\'t official Sony made product then it will not work. It was only designed for the original and no one has had any luck with third party devices.\n

\n I am wanting to get one of these memory card readers that these drivers were made for. I am sure that if I got one that they weren\'t made specifically for the drivers may work but I want to be sure by getting the ones it was made for. If anyone could point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it.\n
\n Every time I download the attached .zip. I get an error when unzipping it. \n \n
\r\n
\r\n
\r\n \r\n \r\n ! C:\\Users\\theduce102\\Documents\\ps3mca-tool-fmcb-1.8c_Full-Repack.zip: CRC failed in ps3mca-tool-fmcb-1.8c Full-Repack\\ps3mca-tool-fmcb-1.8c INSTALLER.exe. The file is corrupt\r\n \r\n
\r\n
\r\n
anyway around this? \n \nI\'m using Windows Vista Basic 32bit and winrar to unzip. Also I\'ve used these same .zips to load up but the drivers wont install and I get an error when formating and installing fmcb. I really want to get this working because I\'m a dork that still has a ps2 and I spent all my money on a HP TouchPad to put CM9 on it, so no ps3 for me until GTAV is released lol\n
\n Hey, theduce102, I tried and extracted it without a crc-error, I got a trojan alert though with the exact same file "ps3mca-tool-fmcb-1.8c INSTALLER.exe". Do you have an anti virus software? Maybe that\'s what\'s corrupting the file. \n \nIf you don\'t want to disable your security software, download THIS one, it\'s not the full repack from site one. Extract it, install drivers, connect memory card to pc, run "mc-format.bat" and then run "full-install.bat".\n

\n +traube \n Is there some kind of exploit in the program that uses a trojan to gain root on the ps2? we had a program that did that in the galaxy s epic 4g forums at xda. so if thats the deal I\'ll try another program to extract it and disable my antivirus. \n \n+JLM \nI\'m downloading through Sprint in the U.S. @ 250kB/s. I\'ve had this problem before. well, this is what checksums were made for, I think? lol \n \nEDIT: wow I\'m not as smart as I think I am lmfao. When I was promted to install the drivers when I plugged the adapter in, I kept going to ps3mca-windrv/ x86 and hitting okay and it wouldnt install.1 Like an genius, I should have clicked okay when ps3mca-windrv was highlighted. Ugh I\'m slow. thanks guys, I\'m on the fast track to a modded ps2 \n \nI hate to say it but, I\'m a n00b. Okay so I got everything installed on the card. so what do i do now. am i done? how do i load esr and hdloader and opl now?\n

\n It\'s been awhile but I think with a default install those should show up on your ps2 menu. Like he said stick your memory card in before turning on the ps2. IIRC, there are some tutorials on configuring it at sksapps.com. You have to patch game iso\'s to run with esr. Also, there is a version of codebreaker that will work from memory card and with esr. You can set up your configuration to have an entry for opl on the ps2 menu if it\'s not already there or use Ulaunch to navigate to where opl is and start it manually. Have fun.\n

\n Ditto anyone find a work around for this? I am just using Win7 x64 and this sucks as I gave away my card to a friend thinking I could easily make another and now i have no swap magic or this doesn\'t work. \n \nEDIT \n \nI got it working for those using the pre-compiled GUI on Win7 x64, if you are able to format but fail to sign kelf then you need to use the file set I have uploaded here and install the drivers fresh. Then you must run the format bat file first, then simply click the install bat file and you are done. Tested on three Win7 x64 machines.\n
