EXCLUSIVE: Cobra ODE - Shipping This Week to Resellers
Samples to reviewers will be received this week and more info coming soon!
Team Cobra has finally sent out news to resellers and reviewers that they will be finally get their Cobra ODE devices later on this week, so stay tuned for more info and reviews later on this week!
Here is the email from Cobra ODE earlier today, they also point some recent wrong information floating around the 'net on how their device works, and point out the flaws on other ODE's on the market and key features on how their product is better, but we will see first-hand in a few days when the reviews are in from actual PS3 users, plus we will be posting more info later on this week.
Cobra ODE is shipping to resellers this week.
At the same time we feel it necessary to bring to the public's attention that some competitors are spreading lies and attempting to bully customers into purchasing their products. We have remained pretty quiet on these issues until now. However when the competition stoops too low, then its time to set a few things straight
Firstly, to say that Cobra ODE will be "easily blocked" is a very untrue. From time to time an update may be required to our product to ensure best performance and compatibility. We fully expect to roll out frequent updates to our product, which is the very reason our hardware platform is upgradable.
Whilst the competition uses a different approach to us, and this may or may not be less visible to big brother, it is also less flexible and relies on a database of titles in order to play the desired ISO. If your desired ISO is not in their database, then you are unable to play it...
Cobra ODE does not have this restriction. You can play an ISO without the need for it to be in a database...
Furthermore, much noise is being made about wifi connectivity, which requires a wifi dongle on the competing product. Remote control via wifi and even bluetooth of our UI could be made possible in the future through a homebrew web server running on any PS3 (including 2K5/3K and 4k) via our ODE platform, without the need for a wifi dongle.
There are many reasons to purchase Cobra ODE, including the fact that we support both PATA and SATA consoles with a single device as opposed to a range of adapters, and not forgetting that we have an easier install on 2k5/3k and 4k consoles.
As for HW based AES encryption, we support AES encryption and decryption in hardware on our Smart Fusion device as well as a bunch of other neat features.
Cobra ODE is not a cheap device, granted. However one only has to look at the number and calibre of components used to realize that we offer a flexible, feature packed and versatile platform, which is what you'd expect from the Cobra Team.
I seriously cannot wait for this device, it's going to be incredible. I purchase all my PS3 stuff (and pre-order) from ModChipsDirect. I can honestly say they have the best service, support, AND all of there items ship within the USA, unlike other resellers who ship to the USA but not from within, so shipping from ModChipsDirect is super fast.
I dunno, I was going to go for the Cobra, but at $125 compared to the E3 ODE Pro at $80, it's a much tougher decision. It's probably a much easier decision for most folks who'll probably go for the much cheaper E3 Pro. Decisions, decisions...

Let me explain how it works: The only way to switch games is Cobra manager, it's an homebrew
Sony will patch the homebrew exploit as soon as the first ODE will enter in the market, after that cobra ode will be useless and will need an HARDWARE upgrade (they sed "we remove this part of the hw to make the price lower": you'll be asked to pay or your ode will stop working)
The first ODE will be the x3key's one, cobra ode will be usell even before they start shipping By the way any ODE is upgradable
Yes, it is invisible but they lied. you only need a "code" that identifies the ps3 original game you keep inside the bluray drive. pretty much all the games will be supported before the release date
False, like i sed homebrew will stop working even before cobra ode will be released
Every ODE does it
3k3y can do it too, E3 ODE is still in developement
The Ps3's ODE war start now !! let's see who will be the best !!
I am sure SONY can't do any thing to stop thoses ODEs, the 3 teams are really awesome, they proove it since many years, they knew what they are doing so don't worry.
The ony negatif point here is the price, the E3 ODE is the best in this so I am with them.
Thanks GaryOPA for the great news.
the thing that bothers me the most with 3k3y is how long it will take to get the IRD files and wether they exist for your specific game version, over the past few days i have been gathering up a couple of ps3 games that i really wanna play, now on the 3k3y webiste, i could only find the IRD for the EU version not, US verison of PAIN, and another game that just came out, Dragons Crown, the IRD doesnt even exist, now i dont know if this will improve once more and more people get the 3k3y, but right now its pretty damn lame
Close to the same time the first reviewers will also hopefully make installation videos as part of their review process, or at least some close-up pictures.
They say it is easier then 3k3y, but I can't personally confirm that, all tho I can say the 3k3y is not easy that is for sure!
